Alex Subrizi

Alex's portraits are timeless. Not just because they are black and white (and not all of them are) but because they have that certain something. I think it's honesty. He's not playing fancy tricks to make the shots look cool, he is just superiorly recording your day. His photographs are the kind that your great grandchildren see and they know you instantly. Also, Alex has that unobtrusive, comfortable type of personality that allows him to get right in the middle of the action without drawing attention to himself so he doesn't miss a moment.

LH Calligraphy Compass Place Cards

Kudos to Laura Hooper for this adorable table card idea. These would be perfect for a nautical wedding or a party on a boat. I could even see upgrading to a quality, engraved compass to double as the guest gift. My father would love to pocket one of these after a party, and really how often can you get men excited about wedding favors?

J. Crew Bridal

A friend of mine sent me these gorgeous bridesmaids dresses. I don't love the idea of plugging a successful nationwide store but if you are going to have identical bridesmaids dresses it can be really helpful to request they be from a store that everyone has access to (especially when your friends are spread all around the country!). Plus these dresses are so stylish and timeless, they won't date your wedding when you look back at your album 30 years from now.

And how lovely for a summer/beach wedding...

The Paper Palate

Sometimes food looks like art.  Sometimes food looks like fantasy.  Sometimes food looks like.  Well.  Food.  It's much harder to mask poor ingredients when your food looks like food.  Danielle over at Paper Palate understands this and knows that food IS art, just the way god intended it.

Many of the ingredients even come from her own (organic) garden!

Molo Float

Creative design is all about taking the way something is supposed to look and turning it on it's head. That's why I love these champagne flutes from Molo. They look so chic and would make wonderful toasting flutes for a modern wedding. I would love to have a set at home with the coffee and tea service as well for parties. Phenomenal!

Malcolm Betts

I found these rings at Barney's in New York and had to try one on. It was the first engagement ring I've ever put on my left hand ring finger (I slipped it on against all my better superstitious judgment) and it will probably be the last I try on. I love them! Plus all of the stones are vintage so you can wear your diamonds guilt free.

Passing Notes

It is every wedding professional's dream to create moments throughout the day that surprise and delight the guests. The element of surprise is all about revealing something that your guests haven't seen before and it takes an ocean of creativity to create these moments over and over again, especially when you add pressure and deadlines to the mix.

That's why it's always such a pleasure to meet people like Abbie at Passing Notes who continue to deliver over and over again. Abbie has the incredible ability to incorporate personal details about the bride and groom into the design and create invitation suites that are out of this world. Take, for example, the save the date above created for Lily and Amir. In Persian wedding tradition, the first time the groom lays eyes on his bride is in the reflection of a mirror at the altar. Their save the date plays homage to this tradition and becomes the kind of wedding moment that planers dream of.
