Penny Candy

I'm just in love with these adorable penny candies spotted at Terrain.  These clear toy candies are lovingly handcrafted by brothers Ryan and Eric Berley of Shane Confectionary in their shop in Philly over an antique stove using candy molds that date to the turn of the 20th century.  They have a collection of around 350 different shapes and sizes!

I learned a little about this unique craft from Terrain's website - introduced to America by German settlers, clear toy candies have been made and enjoyed in the Pennsylvania area since the colonial era.

What better time of year than Christmas to introduce these sweet gifts into your holiday parties, as favors, part of the decor or even as a napkin accent at each place setting.  These would be a great conversation started and make a fabulous visual statement.

From $5 each.
